Selenite

View a magnificent, luminous moon through a shimmering Selenite crystal while admiring the lovely Moon Goddess Selene, who is circling the sky in a gleaming chariot while wearing a crescent-shaped crown and silver wings, guiding and guarding those who are in the dark. While several goddesses were named in ancient cultures to represent the moon, the Greeks took Selene to be the moon itself. She embodies serenity, blessing, love, and light, just like her crystal does.

The clarity and ethereal luminosity that selenite crystals offer are highly regarded. It is thought to contain the liquid light of spirit that lives in the region between light and matter because, like the moon, it casts a clean beam of white light into any area in which it resides. When it comes to opening, cleaning, and activating the crown and higher crown chakras, selenite outperforms almost all other stones thanks to its fineness, high frequency, and intensity of energy. It is one of the best crystals for getting in touch with your spirit guides and the heavenly realm. It is also great for meditation, spiritual activities, and getting in touch with old knowledge and wisdom.

Despite being an old crystal, selenite is one of the most potent for the earth’s new vibration, which is tuned to the welfare of all living things. It is a lovely way to connect to and ground one’s light body while also allowing one to access greater levels of self. It does a lot to improve mental skills, especially when it comes to telepathic connections between people with similar minds. For telepathy, the best way to use selenite is for one person to send a thought or message into the crystal, which a second person can then tune into. Selenite is said to have the capacity to store information inside its structure. It is also said to contain all of earth’s recorded history inside its linear markings and can be utilized to determine the veracity of events that have occurred in its presence.

Certain clear crystals, particularly those with a glassy or pearly shine, were prized in antiquity because it was thought that their value fluctuated according to the moon’s phases. This crystal was given the name selnits (literally, “moon stone“) from the Greek word seln because of its white, moon-like effect from cleavage surfaces or the quality of light passed through it (moon). It is a hydrous calcium sulfate crystal that crystallizes into transparent, well-formed crystals or crystalline masses, which is a kind of gypsum. Due to its natural thermal insulating qualities, it has a hardness of 2, making it easily scratchable with a fingernail. It also feels warm to the touch.

Selenite often takes the shape of tabular crystals with striations running the length of the crystal when it forms in the monoclinic system. It can develop with no flaws and appear as clear as glass, although it is typically translucent and colorless with a vitreous or pearly gloss. Another interesting thing about selenite is that it can form twinning, reticular, or columnar crystals. It can also have dendrites, fossils, internal or external druse, and very rarely, enhydro cells, which are water or gas bubbles that formed inside the crystal while it was growing. Even though selenite crystals are pretty fragile, they can be bent gently by the hand and often do so on their own. Rarely, selenite has been used as window panes, like in the Santa Sabina church in Rome, which dates back to the fifth century and has thin sheets that look like mica. The largest fully formed selenite crystals in the world, some of which measure over 36 feet in length and weigh close to 55 tons, range in size from tiny to enormous. (See the Naica Mine’s “Cave of the Crystals” in Chihuahua, Mexico.)

Selenite shares a close relationship with the other crystalline forms of gypsum, such as Satin Spar, a compact fibrous variety that is typically translucent with a pearly chatoyant appearance; Desert Rose, which is frequently bladed in the familiar shape of a rose with an outer druse of sand or with sand throughout; and Gypsum Flower, an opaque variety that is typically attached to a matrix and has spreading fibers forming a variety of shapes. Every so often, while all have been lumped together and given the name “Selenite,” the type that produces transparent, well-formed crystals, however, is still the actual Selenite.

When found in nature, druse, inclusions, or other minerals can make Selenite crystals take on light tints of color or show opacity or translucency in addition to being clear, colorless, or pearly white.

Selenite is an excellent talisman for women since it promotes harmony, brilliance, and support during all phases of life. Wearing it as jewelry can help you stay faithful, attract love, and promote conception. It can also help you stay calm during pregnancy and motherhood. Keep a Selenite angel in a place where the moonlight falls on her to radiate warm, benevolent energy. The mineral selenite may also increase the likelihood of peace. Send a little something to someone you want to get back in touch with.

The best way to create a safe, positive environment that is protected from outside influences is to grid an area with selenite. Place them indoors in the nooks of your home, office, or place of business. Use selenite clusters or eggs as well to shield yourself from outside negativity, especially at night. Children who are afraid of the dark can be given a sphere, and you can explain how the moonlight is trapped inside and shines on them as they sleep.

Natural wands made of superb selenite are renowned for being delicate, slender, frequently rather long, and reasonably priced. Because of their pure vibration, crystal healers esteem them for cleaning and all kinds of energetic cleansing. Used to separate creatures and mental forms from the aura and shield the mind from outside influences. Selenite wands can be used with practically any stone or group of stones to create extremely powerful energy tools that have their powers multiplied by many. Wands made of selenite are also great for creating detachable, adaptable energy grids that may be used inside or outside the home. Being in the middle of one of these arrangements can result in ascension-like experiences.

Use selenite to overcome professional shyness and reluctance and to help with things like business and making money. It encourages peaceful relationships and provides clarity and sound judgment during disputes or discussions.
