Your Daily Wicca Devotions (Rituals)

Your success on a magical path depends on your capacity to concentrate charged energies and send them into the universe in order to achieve your goals.

Your link to magical energy will deteriorate if you disregard it, as will your power. They are crucial for novice witches in particular.

Daily devotions are actions you take each day to improve your capacity to regulate your inner magickal energy. A daily, intermittent devotional practice aids in the replenishment of energies.

Consider your daily rituals of devotion as energetic mini-rituals. They make your bond stronger and infuse your life with uplifting vibes.

The most important thing is to choose a daily regimen that works for you and stick with it.

You can complete all of your selected devotions at once or space them out throughout the day. Choose a course of action that fits your schedule and stick with it.

Anything that makes you feel good can be one of your devotionals. It might be as easy as writing in your Book of Shadows before going to bed each night. Keep track of the negative patterns in your life in your Book of Shadows, and seek to reinforce the constructive ones in your head and in the Book of Shadows.

Spending at least a few minutes breathing, meditating, and picturing good things will help you bring positive energy into your life. This is another small devotional ritual you may practice. Even the meditation technique I gave you earlier in this book can be used.

Here is a collection of daily devotions you can perform. You don’t have to complete them all, but choose the ones where you feel most at ease:

  • Early-morning devotional
  • Linking up with the Lord and Lady
  • The Divine, Infinite Energy Connection
  • Journaling
  • Food Blessing Devotional
  • Greeting Devotionals to the Spirits or Elements Around You Connecting with Nature and the Earth Mother
  • BreathingMeditationVisualization Exercises
  • Engaging in Energy Play

Keep in mind that doing devotionals shouldn’t make you feel worn out. And you shouldn’t ever find yourself having second thoughts about performing them. Make sure to choose the ones that will work best for you because you should look forward to them.

The majority of the above devotionals are self-explanatory, and you can make them any way you like. When performing your daily devotions, there are no absolute guidelines.

Here is a guide for the “playing with energy” daily devotional:

Start with the fundamentals of the meditation exercise from earlier in this book while sitting comfortably. Open your eyes once you have shifted into the breathing-slowing phase.

Rub your hands quickly together while holding your palms up. As you do this, start calling energy from your surroundings into your body. Approximately 12 to 18 inches away from your face, hold your hands out in front of you with the palms facing each other. This will work best if there is a strong, black background in the direction you are facing.

Prioritize directing your body’s energy outward through the palms of your hands. When you sense that the flow is strong and smooth, direct your attention to a place in the background just beyond your hands. Can you make out the ethereal, hazy energy in the space between the palms?

You might need some time to notice it, but if you persevere, you will. Once you can see the energy there, concentrate on making it brighter and darker by increasing the flows and decreasing the flows. Play with the energy frequently until you feel confident in your ability to direct it to do what you desire.

When you get there, start experimenting more with the energy. Make a ball out of it, then watch the ball vary in size and intensity as you move your hands closer and farther apart.

Try varying shapes and sizes as you get the hang of each one (over days, not minutes!). Play with the energy and become accustomed to it. You employ this energy when performing magickal spells. Even though it still has an ethereal character, seeing it in concrete form can help you believe in it more and feel more energized.
